A 23-year-old who fell in love with photography by joining her high school yearbook committee. After learning the intro to journalism Marika became head editor of the yearbook committee where she also learned her skill of photography.

 

Marika transitioned to college at North Carolina Central University, where she majored in Mass Communication. Throughout her four years there she interned for Spectacular Magazine where she was able to publish her writing and photography for college sports and events around Durham and Raleigh NC. She also had a job working at a PR firm as a social media consultant. While in college she joined an array of organizations from Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Curve Appeal Modeling Troupe, and more. She also upheld the editor position for Central News and an e-board position in the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).

Four years later Marika graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and started her career in television as a News Editor at WRAL. Marika also started graduate school at NCCU obtaining her Master's in Business Administration and Marketing. 

Marika still has a long journey ahead of her, so make sure you stick around and watch her success flourish!
